Jake Lockwood ties for first in Red Lodge Xtreme Bulls

RED LODGE, Montana – The Red Lodge Home of Champions Rodeo got underway with an electrifying start on Saturday night with the thrilling Xtreme Bulls event.

The rodeo attracted a talented group of Montana cowboys, including Parker Breding from Edgar, Wyle Wynn Wells from Ronan, and Jake Lockwood hailing from Volborg.

Breding showcased his skills in the first round, delivering an impressive performance that earned him a solid score of 87.0, securing him a commendable third place at the end of the exhilarating night.

Lockwood, determined to redeem himself after an early mishap during his initial ride, bounced back with a remarkable display of skill and tenacity. His outstanding performance culminated in a total score of 87.5, placing him in a thrilling tie with Oklahoma cowboy Cannon Cravens.

Lockwood is no stranger to the rodeo circuit, having participated in both PBR tours and local events. However, for now, he has decided to focus on Montana tours, especially since his return from injury. In his third rodeo back, he expressed his sheer joy of competing in his home state.

“We cherish the opportunity to ride in front of our fellow Montanans and provide them with an unforgettable show. Being here in Montana takes us back to our roots – the days of junior high rodeos and high school rodeos. It’s more than just a big-time show; it’s a genuine family atmosphere. We’re all one big family here,” Lockwood shared with enthusiasm.
