In an exhilarating night in Jacksonville, Florida (USA), the talented competitor John Crimber achieved his long-awaited victory in the elite ranks of PBR, etching his name onto the rodeo scene. The young prodigy, after three second-place finishes in the last five weeks, finally clinched the top spot, standing out in the Final Round with an impressive score of 91.00 points on the bull Doze You Down.
This victory not only brought the well-deserved buckle for Crimber but also propelled him to the vice-leadership in the world rankings, surpassing competitor Austin Richardson. With the prize of $51.3 thousand and 148.00 bonus points for the ranking, the newcomer showcased not only skill but also determination.
Crimber’s ascent in the standings did not go unnoticed, and it’s intriguing to note that he surpassed the mark set by Jess Lockwood. The achievement came just six days after the American secured his first stage win in 2016, when he was 18 years, six months, and 20 days old. Now, Crimber has his sights set on the title of the youngest PBR World Champion in history, a record currently held by Lockwood.
Despite the ranking leader, Cássio Dias, having a subdued performance in this event, with only one qualified ride and no qualification for the Final, his 295.00-point advantage still keeps him in the lead. However, Crimber is determined to challenge this position and promises a fierce competition in the upcoming stages.
Crimber’s consistency throughout the season is noteworthy, having successfully ridden at least one bull in 11 out of the 13 stages. Dalton Kasel also shone in Jacksonville, winning all three bulls he rode and returning to the Top 5 of the rankings, now occupying the fourth position.
In the third position of the stage, João Ricardo Vieira climbed his way up in the world rankings, now holding the fifth position. Daylon Swearingen and Ednélio de Almeida rounded out the top five positions of the weekend, providing an exciting spectacle for rodeo fans.
PBR heads to Indianapolis next weekend, continuing the regular season with the 14th stage out of a total of 23, preceding the events of the World Finals in May. The stage is set for more thrills and twists in this exhilarating journey through the world of rodeo.
