Jared Parsonage Retires After Clinching Historic PBR Canada Title

by rodeowins

The 2025 PBR Canada season came to a dramatic close last weekend as Jared Parsonage of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, cemented his legacy in Canadian bull riding. Parsonage delivered a standout performance in the final round, captured the event win, and walked away as the newly crowned PBR Canada Champion. Moments after receiving the coveted title, he surprised fans by announcing his retirement at the age of 32.

Inside Rogers Place, Parsonage ended his career in remarkable fashion, earning roughly $150,000, including the $100,000 bonus awarded to the national champion. He finished the year with $230,101.73 won on Canadian soil — a reflection of what became the richest season in PBR Canada history. In 2025, the organization paid out over $1 million across 36 events, plus $250,000 at the national finals.

Parsonage closed out his season with 33 qualified rides in 51 outs, posting a 64.71% riding average.
This performance placed him among an elite group. He became just the fifth rider to capture both the national title and the PBR Canada Finals in the same year, joining:

  • Zane Lambert (2017)
  • Cody Coverchuk (2018)
  • Daylon Swearingen (2019)
  • Nick Tetz (2024)

The year also brought Parsonage a groundbreaking achievement: he became the first athlete ever to win both the PBR Canada Championship and the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) bull riding title in a single season. In October, he secured his third CPRA championship, further solidifying his dominance in the sport.

Retiring at the height of his career, Parsonage leaves behind a legacy of consistency, resilience, and major accomplishments — a name now firmly etched among the greats of Canadian rodeo.
