In the thrilling conclusion of this Sunday’s Unleash The Beast stage in Sioux Falls, Cássio Dias emerged as the winner for the sixth time this remarkable season. The talented miner not only solidified his lead in the world ranking but also left his main rivals in the dust, failing to score any points.
After an unfavorable previous weekend and a shaky start with his Friday bull ride, the ranking leader began a remarkable recovery. Demonstrating consistency, he secured three qualified rides on Saturday and Sunday, culminating in the championship title.
In the grand final, Cássio reached the second position and faced Ricky Vaughn, scoring an impressive 90.50 points. This marked his eighth score above 90.00 points this season, securing him the victory, especially when his main competitor failed to score in his last ride.
For his outstanding performance this weekend, Dias earned 165.00 bonus points for the ranking, along with a total prize of $50.6 thousand.
Meanwhile, competitors John Crimber, Dalton Kasel, Eduardo Aparecido, and Koltin Hevalon, who were in the Top 5 of the ranking before the stage, failed to score. This allowed the leader to increase his advantage to 580.50 points over the second-placed competitor.
With his sixth victory this season, Cássio Dias achieved a rare milestone, shared by only a few great names over the more than 30-year history of the championship, such as Cody Hart, J.B. Mauney, Justin McBride (twice), and José Vitor Leme (twice).
Furthermore, he is now only two wins away from equaling the historic record of most titles in a single season, held by Justin McBride (2007) and José Vitor Leme (2021), both with eight victories.
The second position in Sioux Falls was secured by Alan de Souza, who regained his prominent position in the ranking. Australian Brady Fielder finished third, followed by Marco Rizzo and Wyatt Rogers.
